This project was a collaboration with the WBGC and Bloom Architecture to expand its services by creating a dedicated childcare facility for children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade. The renovation transformed the existing basement level into a bright, engaging space designed to accommodate up to 80 children. The updated facility featured a mix of open play areas, learning zones, and activity spaces, with a neutral-toned structural frame accented by vibrant splashes of color. Interior upgrades included new flooring, lighting, and furnishings, while exterior improvements introduced a modernized facade with metal paneling and a glass canopy at the entrance. In addition to enhancing the overall learning and play environment, the project improved accessibility with the installation of a new lift connecting the ground floor to the main level. Safety and security were also prioritized, with the addition of a new sprinkler system throughout the existing building and upgrades to fire suppression and security infrastructure. The $1.8 million renovation allowed WBGC to meet the growing demand for childcare services while freeing up space on the main floor for older children and teens.
