This fast-track summer project, with Tufts University and LDa Architects, maximized the use of existing dorm rooms by making improvements to the layout, finishes and furniture.
Groom worked closely with Tufts officials and city inspectors to complete the following scope: minor demolition, drywall and plaster finishes, new ceilings, flooring, paint, electrical and fire protection.
In order to keep the schedule on track, the project team reviewed milestones weekly in order to release finishes and coordinate furniture moves. The project was completed in early August so that the students could occupy the rooms for the fall semester. This 11 week project included six buildings, 100 dorms, plus kitchen and bathroom renovations.
