This project was awarded to Groom to renovate both exterior and interior areas of Aidekman Arts Center. Groom’s Phase 1 project scope focused on restoration of the building envelope including replacement of 24 EPDM roof systems, new roof drains, flashing, and edge caps. In addition, Groom worked with specialty masons to restore the brick facade in multiple locations over a 6-month period. Mortar replacement and repointing were also completed.

Other work included window replacements which were coordinated with the University and the occupants to minimize the impact on classes. New windows, trim, drywall, and paint were completed in the Dance Studio, the Dance Lab & Lower Wing Student Classrooms. Two large-scale, custom radius windows were also fabricated for installation on the gable ends of this prominent campus building.
