Groom Construction was contracted to build the new Beech Street Center in Belmont, Massachusetts. This environmentally-friendly 19,000 square foot public senior center was the first LEED-certified public building in Belmont. The project achieved its prestigious rating through extensive use of energy-saving strategies and environmentally sensitive materials.

- Construction on the site of a former building

- Floors made from easily renewable cork, bamboo, linseed-based linoleum, and recycled tires
- Passive solar heat from large south-facing windows
