Hodgdon Food on the Run – Dining Renovations and HVAC Systems Upgrade
This dining hall renovation at Tufts was designed to incorporate more flexibility and technology for student access on campus. Over an 8-month period, Groom worked with Tufts and the design team on a complete gut and rebuild. Scope of work included underground plumbing modifications, all new MEP/FP, demo to expose structure of original open ceiling, new tile and finishes, custom signage and graphics, and all new commercial kitchen equipment. Groom also worked with facilities to provide new rooftop MUA condenser replacement and infrastructure improvements for Hodgdon Hall.
Kindlevan Cafe at the SEC Building
$1.5 M: Successfully completed as a fast-track summer project, Groom performed demo and construction at the atrium cafe. Scope of work included tie-ins to existing HVAC and plumbing systems, while upgrading millwork, serving areas, and security. All new electrical, signage, graphics, finishes and millwork were installed while coordinating with the new commercial equipment upgrades. Groom worked with facilities to coordinate ongoing activities in the building, as well as with adjacent lab and learning spaces, over a 3-month period.
