Newly appointed John Keenan, the 14th President of Salem State University, was posed with a problem. Several areas of the president’s office were separated throughout the campus. Robert Burr, developer of 331 Lafayette Street, proposed a solution. Keenan decided the top two floors of the new building, offering 16,000 SF of newly constructed office space, would facilitate enhanced communication in a much needed central location. Throughout the construction process, Groom Principal Scott Faulkner worked closely with SSU to ensure their needs were met.
