“What was critically important to me was to be able to work with a partner like Groom Construction who understood what was important to us and how we were trying to meet the needs of our community”

The Lynch Van Otterloo YMCA called on Groom Construction once again to complete extensive renovations to their facility in Marblehead, MA. The purpose of the renovation was to create a more modern, contemporary and user-friendly experience. Alterations to the lobby included a smaller front desk, sound baffling, a solutions suite, and a secure gated entry system. One of the major tasks of this renovation was removing an existing rock wall to create two separate spaces, each on the first and second floors.
On the first floor where the rock wall once stood is now home to the new Kids Club, an area where parents can bring their children to be watched. On the second floor where the rock wall once towered serves as Functional Training. Removing the rock wall helped create a space that members needed and helps the YMCA as an industry leader in the health and wellness industry.
