Fixture INstallation Apprentice
Under general supervision of designated supervisor, to assist in fixture and product installations/revisions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cut, shape, and assemble wood, composition, and/or plastic sections with shop tools and equipment such as planers, jointers, shaper, routers, sanders, and various power saws.
Assemble prepared components for various structures, including chairs, desks, cabinets, bookcases, and paneled doors.
Prepare structures for finish applications by planning, shaping and sanding; using hand and power tools.
Determine type and dimensions of wood stock to be used.
Maintain and clean equipment and work area.
Perform related duties as assigned.
No less than a year of experience as a fixture installation technician.
Knowledge of shop practices and skill in using shop tools and equipment.
Ability to work both indoors and outdoors where there is exposure to extreme heat or cold conditions. May work in cramped spaces, and frequent lifting, standing, and kneeling can be tiring. Those who work outdoors are subject to variable weather conditions.
Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform related duties and responsibilities of this job, such as lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects. Must have the ability to lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds without assistance.
Prepared to work in all weather and must be prepared for extreme heat or cold.
Ability to complete assigned task in a timely manner and to effectively deal with the public in a courteous and respectful manner.
Travel and flexibility to work varying shifts is required.
